Pool Rat
An excellent first job for those who wish to get experience in the work force.

Job requirements

• Must be at least 14 years old

Listed below are a few of the many duties and tasks that you will be expected to complete as a Pool Rat:

• Sell concessions.
• Keep the bathrooms clean throughout the day.
• Carry out various chores on the pool deck (i.e. sweeping and emptying trash cans).
• Keep certain parts of the pool clean (i.e. skimmers and algae on sides).
• Learn prices and functions of the cash register.

Life Guard
Possess responsibility and respect by helping to ensure the safety of the public while setting an example for proper water safety strategies and behavior to those younger and older.

Job requirements:

• Must be at least 15 years old.
• Must possess current Red Cross or YMCA Lifeguard and CPRO/AED certification.

Listed below are a few of the many duties and tasks that you will be expected to complete as a Life Guard:

• Prepare pool facility for opening.
• Maintain facility safety at all times and instruct patrons on safe behavior.
• Greet patrons entering the facility and maintain a proper sign-in log.
• Collect daily admissions and subscription fees and forms.
• Help maintain pool grounds
• Learn prices and functions of the cash register

For those who desire to and are approved by management, other jobs may be performed on top of the ones above.  These include:

Swim Instructor
Teach introductory and advanced water safety and swimming techniques. Requires Red Cross WSI Certification.

Swim Coach
Help make the GHP COOL SHARKS the best swim team in the city. Work with competitive swimmers ages 6 through 18 to improve swimming stroke and conditioning.

Grill-master
Grill hamburgers on the weekends for patrons.

Concessions mgt.
Help to organize and supply the concessions operation at the pool. Take inventory, set prices, and maintain stock.
