Pool Safety
The Garden Hill Pool is operated by the Garden Hills Pool & Park Association under lease from the City of Atlanta. As a public pool, we adhere to all City of Atlanta Aquatics regulations and procedures, and are bound by Fulton County Health Department requirements. The Officers and Board of the Association, and the pool managers also have established rules for the safe and effective operation of the Pool.
All pool members and their guests are expected and required to follow the pool's safety and operating rules. Individuals who refuse to do so may be asked to leave the pool for the remainder of the day; repeated or severe violations may result in longer suspensions of pool privileges.
While they are at the pool, all children under 12 years old must be accompanied by a chaperone 16 years old, or older.
Diaper policy
All children swimming in the main pool or the wading pool are required to wear swim suits. Smaller children may wear swim diapers made specifically for use in water and swimming pools. Regular diapers (disposable or cloth), rubber or plastic training pants are not allowed in either pool, but may be worn by children when they are not in or within 5 feet of the water.
To avoid health risk, diaper changing is not allowed on the pool deck or on the picnic tables. It should be done in the bath houses.
Admissions
General Admission prices are $2 for adults and $1 for children. Each Subscriber Family will receive one membership card, which should be shown to the pool staff every time you enter and sign into the pool. Please cooperate with our staff if they ask to see other identification.
Guests of subscribers pay General Admission prices of $3 for adults and $2 for children, and may accompany their subscriber hosts during hours that the pool is open to subscribers only. Guest fees per person vary for subscriber only parties and events. Each subscriber/family may bring no more than one guest/family unless they have scheduled a party with pool management in which party rates apply.
Pool Hours
Pool Hours are 10:30am to 4:45pm for General Admission. Subscriber Hours are from 5:00pm to 8:30pm Sunday-Thursday and 5:00pm to 9:00pm Friday - Saturday. We will make every effort to have the pool open during the hours shown in our operating schedule. At the end of the swimming day, all swimmers must immediately exit the water. Within fifteen minutes after the closing time of the pool, everyone must have vacated the pool grounds.
Before or after normal operating hours, the pool may be used for swim team practice, staff meetings, or other purposes. During these functions, the pool is closed to all individuals not involved in those activities.
Thunder and Lightning Policies City and County regulations require that after thunder is heard, everyone must leave the pool for 30 minutes. When the lifeguards on duty hear thunder, a whistle is blown and swimmers are asked to exit the water and remain five feet back from the water for 30 minutes from the last sound of thunder. When lightning is sited by the lifeguards, an announcement will be made that everyone must exit the Pool and clear off the entire pool deck area for 40 minutes from the last visible lightning strike. We appreciate everyone's understanding and cooperation during summer storms. Our ultimate goal is to keep everyone safe and happy throughout the swimming season.
Parties
Parts of the wooden pool deck area are available on a reservation basis for birthday parties and other similar functions. Reservations will be accepted at the pool office on a first-come basis or by speaking with a pool manager at 404-848-7220. No more than six deck tables may be reserved at the same time, and only subscribes parties may be held during subscribers-only hours. The pool is not available for private use outside of normally scheduled operating hours.
All parties are subject to the following rules:
-
A $25 fee will be required per two reserved tables (up to six tables may be reserved at one time).

2. A $25 refundable clean-up deposit will be required upon party commencement.
-
Regular admission fees apply to non-subscribers attending a party ($2/$3 per adult, $1/$2 per child).
-
Parties are limited to three hours and must not obstruct the general traffic flow on the wooden deck; for this reason tables under the tent may not be specifically reserved for parties.
- Parties with more than six children (under 12 years old) in attendance must be chaperoned by at least one adult (18+) for every five children who can swim, and one adult (18+) for every two non-swimmers.
-
Chaperones are required to be in the water with the children while the children are swimming.
-
In order to minimize the risk of water contamination, please do not return to the water until 30 minutes after eating.
-
Violation of these rules may result in the entire party being asked to immediately leave the pool grounds.

Refund requests must be in writing, and must be accompanied by the subscriber's pool membership card. Subscription fees will be refunded based on a pro-rated schedule.
